Assessment of Anteroposterior Diameter, Interpedicular Distance and Cross-Sectional Area of the Lubar Spine in Patients Undergoing CT Scan in a Tertiary Care Center

Introduction: Lumbar spinal stenosis is a frequent cause of low back pain. Decreased lumbar canal parameters are major risk factors for stenosis. This study was done to assess anteroposterior diameter, interpedicular distance and cross-sectional area the on CT scan.
 Methods: It descriptive conducted at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital. Anteroposterior were measured.
 Results: A total 171 subjects selected. The mean diameter from L1-L5 16.46 mm, 16.05 15.04 15.08 mm 15.23 respectively. means 22.71 23.20 24.52 26.29 29.90 cross sectional 288.79 mm2, 2773.15 266.84 282.89 mm2 317.04 statistically significant difference between sex noted L2 L4 L5 levels. has increased with age in all five vertebral levels but it showed variation only L1.
 Conclusion: varies each level vertebra may vary according sex.
